Honey Teriyaki Chicken
鈥? 2 cups water
鈥?1 tablespoon butter
鈥?1 teaspoon salt, eyeball it
鈥?1 rounded cup white rice
鈥?2 tablespoons black sesame seeds, toasted white sesame seeds may be substituted
鈥?4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
鈥?4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
鈥?Vegetable oil, for drizzling
鈥?Salt and pepper
鈥?1 cup chicken broth or water
鈥?1-inch ginger root, peeled and chopped
鈥?1/4 cup honey
鈥?1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
鈥?1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
鈥?4 scallions, thinly sliced
鈥?1 ripe pineapple
Directions
Preheat a grill pan or large griddle over medium high heat.
Bring water to a boil in a small covered pot. Add butter, salt and rice to the pot. Return the water to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and replace cover. Simmer 18 minutes and remove rice from heat. Take the lid off the pot to cool rice a bit. Scoop rice into balls with an ice cream scoop and your hands. Dampen hands with water to work with rice if it is very sticky. Set rice balls on a plate and sprinkle with black sesame seeds.
While your rice is cooking, lightly coat chicken with oil, salt and pepper. Place chicken on hot grill and cook 6 minutes on the first side.
While chicken is cooking, bring chicken broth and ginger to a boil. Stir in honey. When honey has dissolved into broth, add teriyaki sauce and sesame oil and reduce heat to simmer.
Turn chicken and coat liberally with honey teriyaki sauce using a basting brush. Cook chicken 4 minutes, turn again and baste liberally again with sauce, then cook 2 minutes longer. Remove chicken to a plate. Garnish chicken with sliced scallions.
While chicken cooks on the second side, peel and cut a ripe pineapple into 8 spears. Cut off top and bottom of pineapple. Set pineapple upright and trim away skin in strips from top to bottom. Halve pineapple lengthwise and quarter each 1/2, lengthwise. The core is edible, but may be trimmed if you wish. Pineapple can be very acidic. Spears set in cold water for just 1 minute will keep the fruit from stinging your lips when it is eaten. Serve with chicken and rice ballsLooking for a quick and easy chinese recipe...?
This is not for a main course but you can make fried pork wontons pretty easily
ingredients:
get ground pork, or turkey if you prefer
cilantro
garlic pepper
salt
wonton papers, you can probably get them at your regular supermarket in the deli section
directions:
mash up the ground meat with the seasonings and cilantro, season as much as you like
heat up vegetable oil in a wok
place a little meat about the radius of a quarter in the wonton paper, fold it in half diagonal corner to corner, and then pinch the other 2 corners together. this is how it should look http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_-jeCf-few9o/Sm鈥?/a>
now here's a sauce:
sauce ingredients:
water
sugar
rice vinegar
chili sauce
mix together to taste, then zap it in the microwave briefly
or you can just use bottled sauce, whatever you prefer
I garnished mine with the remaining cilantro. Kind of a Thai twist on things :)Looking for a quick and easy chinese recipe...?
So far, this this simple easy Chinese meal, we've made a soup, and a meat stir-fry dish. Now we finish it off with a healthy and tasty vegetable dish. Chinese Broccoli, or Gai Lan is a very popular vegetable in Chinese cooking. There are 2 main ways of preparing it. You can boil/steam it and serve with oyster sauce, or you can stir-fry it with garlic, which what we will make.you can make in less than 30 minutes.
This is a very easy Chinese recipe to make, and if you blanche the Gai LAN first, stir frying will be even faster. Chinese Broccoli - 350 to 400g
Garlic 4 to 6 cloves - Diced
Salt - 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoon
Oil - 3 to 4 tbsps
* Carefully wash the Chinese broccoli, and cut into 2 to 3 inch sections.
* Boil some water, and blanche the vegetables.
* Heat oil to high. Add in garlic and Chinese broccoli. Stir for 1 to 2 minutes until cooked. Serve.
See how easy this Chinese recipe is? Only 4 ingredients, and takes less than 5 minutes to cook! If you choose not to blanche, I recommend cooking them for an extra minute or so.
There you have it, a quick and easy Chinese meal - prepared in 30 minutes if you do it right. :)

Saute chicken breasts. Add the sauce mixture and let cook for a few min. Serve over rice.
