There are many free cooking videos in Mandarin all over the net. You could search for those videos even if you do not know how to read or write Chinese characters. Here is one of the methods:

1) Search for the dish name (in English) on Wiki. (You will find Chinese names for most if not all popular Chinese dishes.)
2) On the Wiki page, you should be able to find the dish's name written in both Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. Highlight and copy the dish's Chinese name.
3) Paste the dish's Chinese name on your favorite search engine and search for videos.

PS: China and most other Chinese speaking countries/regions use Simplified Chinese. Taiwan uses Traditional Chinese. Some Hong Kong sites also use Traditional Chinese. So, Traditional Chinese searches might produce some Cantonese speaking videos.Where can I find chinese recipes videos in mandarin?
