Yummy, authentic-tasting chinese recipes?

The Asian recipes I've tried don't ever live up to my expectations...any ideas?Yummy, authentic-tasting chinese recipes?
Orange Chicken Recipe





The recipe is excellent for both the taste and the easy preparation. This recipe also ideal for great grilled chicken







* 3 tbsp vegetable oil

* 3 lbs boneless chicken breasts, skin removed,cut into strips

* 1 tsp orange zest

* 1 tsp ground ginger

* 1/2 tsp onion powder

* 1/2 cup flour

* 1/2 cup orange juice

* 1/3 cup soy



MARINADE: In a zipper bag, mix the soy sauce , orange juice, ginger, onion powder and orange peel. Mix well.

Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and leave overnight in the refrigerator, or for at least 8 hours.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Strain the chicken from the marinade. (Do not discard the marinade). Coat the chicken with flour. In a large skillet, heat the oil and brown the chicken over medium high heat. Transfer to a 9x13 inch covered baking dish. Pour remaining marinade over chicken. Cover and bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake for 15 minutes more. Let cool and serve

Fried Chicken in Oyster sauce. serves 2.



2 chicken fillets



50g self rising flower

2 teaspoons of (freshly) ground pepper

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1 tablespoon of ground coriander seeds



1/2 a leak

2 green peppers/paprika's

2 cloves of garlic



2 tablespoons of oyster sauce

2 tablespoons of rice wine (can substitute with dry sherry)

1 tablespoon of water



oil for frying (preferably peanut or sunflower)

a big wajan or wok.



cut the vegetables in advance: mince the garlic, cut the leak into 4cm long pieces, and quarter along the stem. cut the paprika's into 1/2 rings.



cut up the chicken fillets in ~1cm鲁 cubes. mix the flower, salt pepper, coriander in a bowl and roll the chicken cubes until they re covered with a thin layer. fry the chicken in batches at high heat in the oil until golden brown. then take out of the pan. and let the cubes leak on some kitchen towels.



keep the pan at high heat.



stir fry the garlic, and paprika's at high heat keep them moving them so they do not burn/stick. add the leak, the cubes and sstir-fryfor about 30 seconds. add a mixture of the sherry and oyster sauce and water, keep stir-frying until the liquid has vaporisedYummy, authentic-tasting chinese recipes?
Probably because you do not have the correct seasonings that's used in Chinese cooking. You should also have a good Chinese cookbook that has authentic recipes.
