This are Chinese dessert easy to cook and you will love it..... :-)
Cheng T'ng
150g dried longans
150g dried golden longans
1 tin gingko nuts
1 preserved mandarin orange
150g dried red dates
5 sterculia seeds soaked
500g rock sugar
10 pandan leaves
1. Use a large pot and add 2 litres of water to boil
2. Add pandan leaves and rock sugar
3. Add all other ingredients to boil over medium heat for 20 minutes.
4. Remove and discard pandan leaves.
5. Adjust sweetness by adding more water or sugar. serve hot or cold.
Tau Suan
1 cup green split beans
1 piece mandarin orange peel
100g sugar (more or less, to taste)
1 litre water
Starch mixture:
2 tbsp potato starch mixed with 4 tbsp water
1. Wash beans. Soak in water for 30 minutes
2. In a pot, add water to boil
3. Add sugar, beans and orange peel to boil for 20 minutes.
4. Add starch and stir to disperse in the soup.
5. Boil till it thickens.
6. Serve hot.
Snow Fungus Sweet Tonic
1 large piece snow fungus
1 tbsp wolf berries
10 dried Chinese red dates
Rock sugar to taste
1. Soak snow fungus. Trim off hard yellow ends, cut into smaller pieces.
2. Bring 1 litre of water to the boil and add snow fungus, red dates and wold berries.
3. Add sugar to taste only when snow fungus has turned soft and jelly-like.
4. Serve hot, or chilled.

as far as I know dessert is more of a Western idea
but serving fresh fruit to end a meal is great
coconut ice cream is very tasty and has become a popular end to a Chinese meal

White Chocolate Cherry Chunkies
1 stick butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons milk
1 cup chopped macadamia nuts
1/2 cup candied cherries
1 1/2 cups white chocolate chunks
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
In a medium bowl, with electric mixer, cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until just combined. Set aside.
Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Add milk to the butter mixture and then add the flour mixture. Mix until just combined. Batter should be stiff.
In another bowl, combine nuts, cherries, and white chocolate. Then add to batter, stirring only to blend. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake for approximately 11 to 13 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
